1962 Ford Falcon XK Deluxe Sedan – Rare Late-Production 170 Pursuit – Low Mileage

A very special and rare Australian classic, this 1962 Ford Falcon XK Deluxe Sedan is a late-production example fitted with the desirable Pursuit 170 engine and automatic transmission.

Finished in classic white with red trim, original carpets and showing mileage in the mid-150,000 miles, this is a highly appealing early Falcon with excellent provenance and enormous character. The body stamping on the suspension support matches the engine number and includes the correct 170 automatic code, making this a particularly interesting car for the serious Ford enthusiast.

The car has been treated to a rotisserie respray in two-pack, including the engine bay and boot. The underside has also been cleaned and refinished in factory-style matte black. The interior metalwork has been refinished in the correct colour, while the chrome, grille, bumpers, side trims and hubcaps are described as being in excellent condition after storage.

As with many carefully restored older classics, there are a few small finishing jobs remaining. The instrument cluster is currently out while a minor dash electrical issue is being traced, including the fuel gauge. The choke cable needs to be connected correctly to the carburettor, although spare carburettor parts and rebuild kits are included. The radiator support panel could be refinished in matte black for complete factory correctness, and a spare wheel, jack and exterior driver’s mirror will need to be sorted.

Early XK Falcons are a very important part of Australian motoring history, and this example is far more interesting than most due to its late-production specification, Pursuit 170 engine, matching details, restoration work and low indicated mileage.
